Beginning January 1st, 2022, companies providing therapy services must provide every new and current client a Good Faith Estimate. A Good Faith Estimate must also be provided to self-pay, out of network, and uninsured patients.
A Good Faith Estimate is the best judgement of the cost of care that a provider plans to offer throughout the duration of a patient's plan of care (ASHA, 2022).
The Good Faith Estimate must be within $400 of the actual charge(s). A Good Faith Estimate is required by the No Surprises Act (P.L. 116-260).
